Acupuncture as an alternative.

Yin and yang: two opposing forces that are symbolic of the universe and the body. This is the foundation of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), which is based an ancient philosophy. When there is a balance between yin and yang, or the universe and the body, the body is in its healthiest state. The energy, Qi (pronounced as chi), moves all throughout the body through pathways called meridians. This movement of energy, or Qi, is what stabilizes the body and balances the forces. If, however, there is a disruption in the flow, there could be an adverse effect—such as pain or illness. Additionally, overall well-being is thought to be related to the flow of Qi. If there’s a blockage in the flow of energy, sleep and digestion could be disrupted, which ultimately affects numerous all aspects of an individual’s life.

The function of acupuncture therapy is to enable free-flowing pathways for energy, thereby promoting a natural, healthy lifestyle. Acupuncture improves bodily functions by stimulating acupuncture points using sterile needles. Further enhancement could be facilitated by added pressure, heat, massage, moxibustion, cupping, or herbal medicines—all services are offered through L&G clinic.

Acupuncture therapy has been shown through many clinical studies to have successfully treat back pain, neck pain, and other musculoskeletal conditions. Nausea, headaches, anxiety, depression, and insomnia are also thought to be related to a disruption or blockage in Qi, and are common conditions where patients find resolutions through acupuncture therapy. Although there isn’t an established fixed number of treatments to remedy ailments, experiences can vary from one to two sessions per week for chronic conditions, to fewer visits for acute issues. Please contact our clinic and consult one of our physicians to develop an individualized treatment plan that suits your needs.

Acupuncture is an alternative, holistic treatment. Pains, ailments, and other adverse health conditions, such as pain, sciatica, arthritis, headaches, and indigestion are all common conditions that acupuncture can restore to normalcy; and naturally. Similar to massage therapy, acupuncture therapy can be applied to health concerns like muscle and joint pain. Acupuncture can detoxify the body and address discomfort and disorders, and it boosts the immune system.
